Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search tool is transmitted to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its response. Clark County Court Docket does not keep a local log or stored copy of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you send us an email, we keep that message so we can reply. Your message stays within our team. We will not share it with anyone outside our organization unless a legal obligation requires it.
Data We Gather Automatically
Loading a page can cause the servers to receive these routine technical details:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Small files called cookies may be stored on a visitor’s device. Together with analytics services, they help measure aggregate traffic, popular pages, and where visits end. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Court-Record Data on File
This site does not host, maintain, compile, or sell databases of court dockets or personal case-record information. We publish general guidance about where Clark County court dockets and records are held and how to request them from the clerk of court, the trial courts that hold dockets, and the statewide case-search system. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing we collect about visitors is assembled into consumer reports or records about third parties.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted there falls under that company’s privacy policy, retention choices, and sharing rules rather than this policy. Review the provider’s terms before sending a query because those practices are outside our control.
Links to Other Websites
Throughout the site we link to clerk of court pages, trial court portals, statewide case-search systems, legal aid groups, and third-party search tools. Clicking any of those links takes you off our site. At that point, their privacy policy governs your visit. Read it before sharing any personal details.
Certain advertising partners may track your activity across sites to show targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Some information may end up with:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards protect collected data. No internet system can promise absolute security, however, so this policy does not guarantee that unauthorized access or a breach can never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly gather personal information from anyone under 18. If you think a minor has shared data with us, reach out and we'll delete it right away.
Your Data Rights
Indiana consumer-protection law may provide rights in addition to those listed here. Court-record access itself is governed by the Indiana Access to Court Records Rules, while agency public records are addressed by the Indiana Access to Public Records Act, Indiana Code 5-14-3. At a minimum, you can:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
We may change this privacy policy down the road. When we do, the updated version goes up on this page with a new effective date. Check back if you want to keep tabs on how we handle your information.
Effective date: August 23, 2026
